A typical fire house tradition is to make a shirt that represents a station, or fire house. We were thrilled to find out that the South Burlington Fire Department chose to feature the whales tails in Fire Station 1’s new t-shirt that was designed by Michael Jordan with Ion Design out of Charlotte, VT http://iondesignvt.com
Senior fire fighter Roger Gosselin said “We brainstormed and developed ideas on what represents the Dorset Street fire station in order to show pride in the area that we cover.”
The design showcases Camel’s Hump in the background. A plane is shown flying over the mountains to symbolize the Burlington International Airport. Next, the iconic whales tails are featured as they are visible along I-89, on the portion of the interstate that Fire Station 1 covers. Finally, the American flag is displayed to show their support for our country.
Currently, round two of the shirts are being printed by Evan Webster Ink out of Shelburne, VT https://websterink.com
